Anti-arrhythmics, Class I-A

Anti-arrhythmics are drugs used to slow down the heart rate. They are prescribed to treat ventricular arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation, super ventricular tachycardia and ventricular tachycardia. Anti-arrhythmics, class 1-a are fast sodium channel blockers and work by imparting conduction of sodium ions. Commonly prescribed anti-arrhythmias include Norpace (disopyramide) and quinidine sulfate.
