Antigonadotropin-releasing Hormones
Antigonadotropin-releasing hormones are a class of drug that suppresses the activity and effects of one or both of the gonadotropins follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). It decreases the levels of androgen, estrogen and progesterone sex steroid in the body, and therefore can be used to delay early puberty or puberty in transgender youths, in the treatment of hormonally sensitive cancers or as a hormonal birth control. Antigonadotropin-releasing hormones are only available with a prescription.
