Calcitonins
Calcitonins are used to treat hypercalcemia, osteoporosis and postmenopausal osteoporosis, reducing the chance of fractures and breaks. Calcitonins work by increasing bone mass, strengthening bones and making them thicker and denser. A commonly prescribed calcitonin is Miacalcin (calcitonin salmon).
