Emergency Contraceptives and Abortifacients
Emergency contraceptives and abortifacients are used to prevent pregnancy in the 72 hours following sexual intercourse. They work by delaying or inhibiting ovulation. This medication will not work if you are already pregnant. Commonly used emergency contraceptives and abortifacients include Ella (ulipristal) and Plan B One-step (levonorgestrel).
