Glycopeptide Antibiotics
Glycopeptide antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infections, MRSA infections, skin infections, diarrhea, gastrointestinal infections, lower respiratory infections, and infections resistant to beta-lactams and other antibiotics. They inhibit the bacterial cell wall formation and kill the bacteria causing the infection. Commonly prescribed glycopeptide antibiotics include Dalvance (dalbavancin) and Vancocin (vancomycin).
