Lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1 (LFA-1) antagonists are used to treat dry eyes. They work by blocking a certain protein on the surface of cells which prevents the eyes from producing sufficient tears, or causes them to produce tears of the wrong consistency to maintain healthy eyes.
