Omega-3 Dyslipidemic Agents
Omega-3 dyslipidemic agents are used to lower cholesterol levels and treat high cholesterol. Dyslipidemia is a condition in which the blood contains an abnormal amount of lipids and it is associated with hypertension, hyperinsulinemia, and obesity. Omega-3 dyslipidemic agents help to lower cholesterol and reduce the liver's production of triglycerides. Commonly used omega-3 dyslipidemic agents include Vascepa (icosapent ethyl) and Lovaza (omega-3 acid ethyl esters).
