Anticoagulant Reversal
Anticoagulant reversal is a treatment option sometimes required by patients on anticoagulants who require surgery, a medical procedure, or who have uncontrolled bleeding. Anticoagulation drugs, such as Coumadin (warfarin) or Pradaxa (dabigatran), are often prescribed to patients at risk of stroke or harmful blood clots, for example, those with atrial fibrillation.
To reverse the anticoagulant Pradaxa, physicians may administer Praxbind (idarucizumab).
