Musculoskeletal conditions is an umbrella term for a group of conditions affecting the bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments joints and nerves. It is a broad category encompassing a variety of diseases and ailments, including tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia.

Symptoms will depend on the condition, but common signs of musculoskeletal disorders include recurrent pain, stiff joints, swelling, and aches. They may affect any area of the musculoskeletal system, including the neck, shoulders, back, hips legs, knees, feet, and risks. These conditions often interfere with day-to-day tasks and may lead to a limited range of motion. 

Treatment will vary according to which musculoskeletal condition is present. However, common options include physiotherapy; occupational therapy; lifestyle changes, such as getting more exercise, improving posture, and losing weight; and medication. Drug classes commonly used to treat musculoskeletal conditions are muscle relaxants, centrally acting, plain, muscle relaxants, peripherally acting, and anxiolytics, benzodiazepines.
