Serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor antidepressants (SNRIs) are used to treat depression, anxiety, mood disorders, panic disorders, diabetic neuropathy, and fibromyalgia. They work by blocking or delaying the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine and elevating mood. Commonly prescribed SNRIs include Effexor XR (venlafaxine), Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) and Venlafaxine Hcl Er (venlafaxine).
