Thyroid Preparations

Thyroid preparations are used to treat patients with thyroid cancer, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism and goiter. Thyroid preparations work by replacing the body's thyroid hormones, a lack of which can cause symptoms such as slow speech, lack of energy, weight gain and hair loss. They include thyroxines such as Synthroid (levothyroxine) and combinations of thyroxine with other agents such as Armour Thyroid and Nature-throid.
