Cystitis
Cystitis is a bladder infection and it is one of the most common urinary tract infections. Women are more susceptible to cystitis, although men may also experience the condition. Cystitis typically occurs as a result of a bacterial infection.
Common risk factors include being female, sexually active, using certain forms of birth control, a suppressed immune system, urinating using a catheter, or having blockages in the urinary tract. Left untreated, it can lead to more serious kidney infections.
Drug classes commonly used to treat cystitis include belladonna and derivatives, urinary analgesics and anesthetics, irrigating solutions, and oral B2-stimulants.
