Excessive Sweating
Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, is a common condition in which a person sweats copiously. The sweating is more than may be normally expected given environmental factors, such as temperature or activity level. Onset may be at any time and it most commonly manifests in the hands, feet, face, and armpits.
Excessive sweating with no underlying medical cause is known as primary hyperhidrosis. However, if it is a symptom of another condition it is classed as secondary hyperhidrosis. Medical conditions that may cause excessive sweating include diabetic hypoglycemia, endocarditis, HIV/AIDS, leukemia, malaria, fever, Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and tuberculosis.
Treatment of excessive sweating includes the use of special antiperspirant, drying agents, which usually contains aluminum chloride. Other possible treatments include Botox injections, surgery, and medication.
