Serotonin-Dopamine Antagonist (SDA) Antipsychotics
Serotonin-dopamine antagonists (SDAs), also known as atypical antipsychotics, are primarily used to treat patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and depression. Often prescribed to patients who respond poorly to dopamine-agonists, they have become one of the top schizophrenia treatments used by psychiatrists. Commonly prescribed SDAs include Clorazil (clozapine), Risperdal (risperidone) and Fanapt (lloperidone).
