Synthetic Antifibrinolytics
Synthetic antifibrinolytics are used to treat heavy menstrual bleeding, hemorrhages, and patients with hyperfibrinolysis. They function by inhibiting the activation of plasminogen to plasmin, helping to maintain the stability of blood clots and prevent excessive bleeding. Commonly prescribed synthetic antifibrinolytics include Amicar (aminocaproic acid), Tranexamic Acid (tranexamic acid) and Lysteda (tranexamic acid).
