Urinary Antibiotics and/or Sulfonamides

Sulfonamides, also known as sulfa drugs, are a group of man-made drugs containing the sulphonamide chemical group. Sulfonamide antimicrobial are bacteriostatic, meaning that they stop the bacteria from reproducing, but doesn’t necessarily kill the bacteria. Sulfonamides can be combined with trimethoprim to destroy bacteria. Non-antibiotic sulphonamides are thought to have anti-inflammatory properties. Sulfonamides are used in the treatment of bacterial infections and urinary tract infections.
