Finding the best prices at pharmacies near you...

Lower Pricing! RxSpark Platform Update Introduces Even Lower Prices and Better Price Transparency

At ModRN Health, our aim is to help Americans find the lowest possible prices for their medication. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to improve the prices on our site, provide our users with greater price transparency, and ensure they never pay more than necessary for vital medication. Visibility into pricing and access to affordable medication are important if we’re going to improve the health of the nation. No one wants to overpay for their medication, and a major reason many people do not adhere to prescription programs is concern about the cost. This concern can tempt people to miss or split doses to stretch medication further, or in some cases, they don’t even bother filling their prescription at the pharmacy.

Better pricing than our competitors!

We know we aren’t the only prescription savings program out there - but we also know we have some of the best pricing available…

Following our latest update, we’ve crunched the numbers, and our pricing for most medications is now significantly lower than that of our largest competitors, including GoodRx! With our new pricing, you can save up to 90% off the cash price of your meds! Furthermore, the ModRN Health prescription savings program can be used at most major pharmacies across the United States, including Publix and Kroger.

ModRN Health’s commitment to price transparency

Search for medication on our site and you will see a list of prices at pharmacies in your zip code, listed from the lowest to the highest. With any prescription savings program, your card or voucher should carry some form of disclaimer, along the lines of “Prices may vary at the pharmacy. But what does this mean?

Understanding drug pricing (and this is the technical bit!)

Every medication available over-the-counter or via prescription has a unique National Drug Code (NDC) assigned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). And that means EVERY medication! If 50 different drug companies manufacture their own versions of a generic drug, there will be 50 different NDC codes for that medication.

These medications will be exactly the same for the patient, with the same name, active ingredients, dosage, and route of administration. However, you won’t know exactly which one any pharmacist has in stock until you go to the pharmacy. Different pharmacies may stock different NDCs, and even if you have a regular pharmacy where you always get your meds, the exact drug (and its NDC) behind the counter may change from month to month.

What does this mean for me?

The price of each medication is fixed, but the price you pay for your medication at your chosen pharmacy may vary slightly. While some NDCs for the same medication may be the same price (and often are), others may be a little higher or lower.

So the exact price you pay may vary a little depending on the NDC of the particular medication your pharmacist has in stock on the day.

So how do I know what I will pay at the pharmacy?

That’s where we come in! Many prescription savings programs will always show you the lowest possible price (though you may not realize that unless you read the small print!). This means the price you see will be for the cheapest NDC for your medication, even if that NDC is very rarely found at any pharmacy, let alone the one you have selected. Consequently, you may likely end up paying more than the amount on your voucher.

ModRN Health always shows you the NDC we estimate to be the most frequently dispensed at typical pharmacies. Of course, we hope your pharmacist can give you an even lower price when you give them your card or voucher, but we prefer to show you what you are most likely to pay. And the good news is that even our most frequently dispensed pricing is among the lowest you’ll find!
