Penicillinase-Sensitive Penicillin Antibiotics
Penicillinase-sensitive penicillin antibiotics are antibiotics which are not rendered inactive by the penicillinase enzyme produced by some bacteria. They are used to treat resistant strains of staphylococci and other infections. Commonly prescribed penicillinase-sensitive penicillin antibiotics include Bactocill (oxacillin), Dycill (dicloxacillin) and Penicillin V Potassium.
