Bowel Prep Combinations
Bowel prep combinations are used to clear out the bowel before colonoscopies and to treat constipation and hepatic encephalopathy. They absorb water into the stool, removing toxic substances and increasing the frequency of bowel movements. Examples of bowel prep combinations include Suprep (magnesium sulfate, potassium sulfate, sodium sulfate) and Gavilyte-G (polyethylene glycol, electrolytes).
