Other Systemic Antivirals
Systemic antivirals are medicines used to treat or prevent viral infections throughout the body. They are used to treat certain viral infections such as herpes, shingles and certain types of flu, for example, influenza A. Commonly prescribed systemic antivirals include Flumadine (rimantadine) and Valtrex (valacyclovir).
